How We Verify Tutors

A tutor's profile is never shown to students until our team has manually reviewed it. Here's exactly how that works.

1. Profile Onboarding

A tutor first completes their profile — qualifications, subjects and boards taught, grades covered, teaching mode (online, at the student's home, or at their own home), availability, and rates. This information is what students compare tutors on, but it doesn't make a profile visible to anyone on its own.

2. Document Submission

Before a profile can go live, the tutor submits two documents:

• An education certificate — proof of the qualification shown on their profile.
• A government ID proof — to confirm the tutor is who their profile says they are.

Both are required — a tutor can't submit just one and have their profile approved.

3. Manual Review

Our team reviews the submitted documents against the profile before approving it. A tutor's profile stays in "pending" status — not visible in student search — for the entire review period. If something doesn't check out, the profile is rejected and the tutor is asked to resubmit; it's never approved by default or after a timeout.

4. Ongoing Review

Verification isn't a one-time badge. If a concern is raised about an already-approved tutor, their status can be revoked, which immediately removes their profile from student search and from their existing public profile page.

What This Means for You

Every tutor you see on TutorGali — in search results or on a profile page — has been through this process. If you have a concern about a specific tutor, let us know.
